Every living being and natural resource that resides on this big rock, in this vast space we call “the universe” is deserving of love, life, community, care and consideration. None of us asked to be here and even after the life that resides within your unique atomic structure, departs, and you inevitably decomposes, no physical matter that has created you will cease to exist and the light that is being projected from every moment of you waking life on this rock will continuously travel into the ever expanding universe. Thus every particle on this planet and every planet, no matter how insignificant they may seem, will be everlasting as the light from every moment of their life will never stop reaching the infinite ends of the universe. Therefore we are all deserving of life as we will be given the same endless time in the universe and our atoms will continuously be recycled from one living thing to the next, whether it be a tiny plant or a massive planet. None of us will cease to exist, regardless of how we feel about it, similarly to how we all came into this life, without question, we simply arrived and we will depart the same.

If these beliefs hold true then it is in my own personal faith that we are all deserving of the same empathy and space as every other living, and non-living inhabitant on this rock. So what do we do with the time we are given? What do we have to prove? To that I say “nothing.” We ask nothing of a tree, so why do we ask so much of ourselves as humans? We have nothing to prove in our humanness, you can simply exist as you didn’t ask to and neither did a tree and all we ask of them is to grow and be. Rather the question is how can we do better by ourselves with all we have available, and oh my god do we have. Look around you, look at what you're looking at, knowledge, community, life, and so much more is available to you in abundance. Even when we feel as if we do not have enough ourselves, “WE” in the larger sense are plentiful. Rather it is the distribution of these resources and our ability to understand what we could create with all we have that needs to shift.

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ~ Albert Einstein
